In an effort to address the escalating chronic disease crisis in America, top health leaders recently convened for a nonpartisan roundtable discussion with Senator Ron Johnson. Held in the historic Kennedy Caucus Room in the Senate, this event, titled "American Health and Nutrition: A Second Opinion," brought together renowned experts to explore innovative solutions to combat the nation’s growing health issues.
With testimony from influential figures such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jillian Michaels, Jordan Peterson, Max Lugavere, Vani Hari, Calley Means, and more, the discussion centered on the need for bold reforms in public health. These voices highlighted the alarming rise in chronic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and mental illness—conditions that have been fueled by outdated dietary guidelines and the overwhelming presence of ultra-processed foods in the American diet.
The panel emphasized that the nation’s health is at a critical crossroads, and that reversing the current trajectory requires a shift in focus toward nutrition and metabolic health. These experts called for systemic changes that prioritize whole foods, healthy lifestyle choices, and updated nutritional education to empower individuals to take control of their health.
We are especially proud to recognize Grace Price, a member of our own Terrain Advocate Program and recent guest on the Metabolic Matters podcast, who participated in this important conversation. Her involvement is a testament to the growing movement within our community to challenge conventional health narratives and promote a metabolic approach to healing.
This is a must-watch discussion for anyone concerned about the future of health in America. The testimony shared during this hearing is a rallying cry for meaningful change in how we address chronic disease and nutrition at the national level.
